Watermelon Viagra?

July 2, 2008 by Dr. Chris Axon · 3 Comments

Who would have thought? Scientific study done at Texas A&M shows that watermelon contains a high quantity of good for you nutrients. The one that it the most intriguing is citruline.Citrulline is known to have the ability to relax blood vessels, much like Viagra does.

When watermelon is consumed, citrulline is converted into the amino acid arginine, which is greatly beneficial to the heart and circulation system and maintains a good immune system

Watermelon may not have a direct effect to the “organ in question” but has been shown to have a lasting effect on the male libido when eaten regularly and it has no “Drug”side effects.

The highest concentrations of citrulline are found in the rind of the watermelon. So get those teeth into the rind. Your partner will love you for it!

I recently tried a new product

I recently tried a product called GBG 10-in-1 liquid multi vitamin.  While this product is not exactly new, it is new on my list.  I have searched far and wide for good products to recommend to my patients.  First let me say that GBG is not one of them.  GBG is a multi level marketing company (MLM).  This means that the whole purpose of selling this product is to make money for a lot of people.  While the price is right if you get on an autoship program, the quality in my opinion leaves a lot to be desired.  The company claims that it is the best liquid vitamin on the market…I have to disagree.

Price: $20-$40 depending on if you use the autoship program…aka…Auto money making program!

Taste: Taste in my opinion is one of the most important criteria for liquid vitamins.  If it doesn’t taste good, people wont take it.  The GBG product tastes very synthetic or artificial compared to the other products I have tried.  My children took it for a few days and they could not stand the taste and neither could I.

Ingredients:  GBG has approximately 130 vitamins and minerals, mostly highly processed in powdered form.  The key to a good liquid vitamin is using live active cultures concentrated from whole fruits and vegetables.  These ingredients should be cold processed. This is not the case with GBG.  GBG falls way short of the other products on the market.  Compare to IntraMAX with over 415 organically bound vitamins and nutrients.  IntraMAX however sells for $70-$80 and is usually only available through healthcare providers.

If you are considering this GBG product I say don’t waste your money, unless you are just one of those people who buy just because of price.  In this case you definitely get what you pay for…VERY LITTLE!
